Andrew Carnegie Free Library & Music Hall
Judge Aldisert Honored at Our Library
On October 7th, the Andrew Carnegie Free Library &
Music Hall hosted a reception in honor of Judge Ruggero J. Aldisert. Born in Carnegie
in 1919, Judge Aldisert came home to talk about his recently published memoir,
Road to the Robes. Judge Aldisert has had a truly remarkable career, and was
appointed to the Federal Court of Appeals in 1968 by President Johnson. As he told
the crowd of about 100 guests, 13 of the book's 23 chapters are about Carnegie.
Judge John Brosky, Judge Joseph Weiss, Jr. and Attorney Vincent J. Grogan planned the program with the ACFL&MH, and Judge Aldisert's colleagues from the bench, family, old friends, elected officials and history buffs showed up for a wonderful evening. Mayor Jim Pascoe issued a special proclamation in Judge Aldisert's honor.
The Library & Music Hall extends heartfelt thanks to event sponsor Vincent J. Grogan, Esq.
and Grogan Graffam, P.C. for their support of this event and the Carnegie Carnegie.
And special thanks to Papa J's Ristorante for a delicious and bountiful buffet augmented
with biscotti from Eccentricities Café.
Guests had a "sneak preview" of the building's new elevator (operated specially for the evening by Schindler until finishing touches are complete). The elevator is a very welcome addition to the building.
Judge Aldisert shared special memories of Carnegie
in the 20s and 30s and signed copies of his book.
