Computer Classes
Free computer classes
are now being taught at Andrew Carnegie Free Library.
The classes are being taught one-on-one so
that the instructor can concentrate on your specific needs. Typical topics include:
- Introduction to Windows
- How to use the mouse
- How to use the Internet
- Setting up and using free Internet email
- How to use the library's catalog
- Word processing
- Spreadsheets
- Slide presentations
- Newsletters
- What to look for in purchasing a computer
The computer classes
are currently being offered as one hour classes starting at 10
AM and 11 AM on Thursdays. If those times are not good for
you, special class times can be set up for you. To reserve a time, call
the circulation desk at 412-276-3456 (option 2 on the menu).
There are a few rules to allow everyone fair
access to the classes:
- You must sign up at least one day ahead of the class.
- You can only reserve one class slot at a time. You must complete that
class before you can reserve another time slot.
- If you miss your class without calling the library to cancel, you must
wait 4 weeks before you can sign up for another class.
- After 4 classes you must wait 4 weeks before signing up for additional classes.
