On Memorial Day 1905 the veterans of the Capt. Thos. Espy Post No. 153 posed for this portrait in front of the Carnegie Free Library, Carnegie, Pennsylvania. Two articles from the Carnegie Union discuss this portrait: "Entertain the G.A.R." (16 March 1906) and "Picture presentation. Members of the G.A.R. royally entertained by Carnegie Lodge of Elks" (30 March 1906).
